About Us
Our Beginnings
In 1989, Piruqsaijit Ltd. was formed to provide financial and operation management for a group of Inuit-owned development corporations that lease commercial and residential buildings in Rankin Inlet and Baker Lake in Nunavut.
Operating since 1985, ilagiiktut began leasing properties to those living in the North, helping to house their community by providing opportunities for commercial and residential rental spaces in Rankin Inlet. That same year, Qamanittauq Development Corporation began providing rental residential and commercial properties to those in Baker Lake, operating under the value statement of being “landlords of our own land.”
Ilagiiktut Limited and Qamanittuaq Development Corporation Ltd. invested in Piruqsaijit Ltd to create a management company and together form the group of companies that provide services in both communities, Rankin Inlet and Baker Lake, Nunavut.
Together, we have provided value and management to the group of companies while always focusing on a strategy for future growth and success to benefit our northern communities.
