Journeyman Oil Burner Mechanic – Property Operations
We are seeking a full- time, experienced Oil Burner Mechanic in the Hamlet of Baker Lake. Applications are being accepted until a suitable candidate has been selected.
Job Duties & Responsabilities
Perform inspections and scheduled maintenance on oil heating systems, including necessary cleaning of all components and parts.
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, their components and controls.
Install oil burners and oil burner components such as thermostats, motors, piping and safety devices, and connect to fuel supply, ventilation and electrical systems.
Test installed units and adjust controls for proper functioning.
Inspect and maintain controls, draft inducers, smokestacks, chimneys and piping.
Complete work order forms detailing work performed, and materials used.
Assist in inventory and stock control, and compile supply orders.
Other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Oil Burner mechanic journeyman certification (must have)
Minimum of 2 years experience (must have)
Must have strong plumbing knowledge with holding tanks and jet pumps.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to be thorough and pay attention to details.
Dependable and have teamwork skills that support a team-based operation.
Physical skills like lifting, bending and carrying.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols while on the job.
Be comfortable working in high-stress environments with extreme weather conditions.
Driver’s license (preferred)
